Von 2013 bis 2020 bereiste ich verschiedene Regionen, Städte und Dörfer des Ex-Territorialgebiets der Deutschen Demokratischen Republik. Entstanden ist eine fotografische Bestandsaufnahme dessen, was ich an den unterschiedlichsten Orten vorfand: architektonische Gebilde, Denkmäler, Wege, Fahrzeuge, zivilisatorische Objekte, Reste, Natur. Ich versuchte Bezügen und Zeichen, die dieses Territorium entsprechend meiner Beobachtungen kennzeichnen, festzuhalten und miteinander zu verknüpfen.
Jedes Gebiet hat seine Geschichte und Signifikanz. Aber letztlich ist alles immerzu im Wandel begriffen.
Entstehen soll ein KünstlerInnenbuch und ein Fotoessay-Film.

From 2013 to 2020 I travelled to different regions, cities and villages of the former territorial area of the Germans Democratic Republic. The result is a photographic inventory of what I found in different places: architectural structures, monuments, roads, vehicles, civilizational objects, remains, nature. I tried to record and link references and signs which are significant for this territory and its special history according to my observations.
How can history be told by means of the photographic image? My photographic project consists of several hundred pictures and tries to focus and reflect on the vanished, real-existing socialism in Germany. It is an attempt to understand it from its beginnings and ideals.
Each area has its own history and significance. But at the end of the day, everything is constantly changing.
An artist’s book and a photo essay film are to be created.
